Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Camp Setup & Nocturnal Creatures Hunt

Afternoon: Arrive at the designated camp within Kwa-Zulu Natal
– Welcome and meet your PAWZ Africa and ranger hosts
– Father-and-son team-building moment: pitch your tent and set up camp together
– Bush orientation and safety briefing

Evening: Socialising
– Bush games and storytelling around the fire
– Sundowner 4×4 game drive

Dinner: Fireside dinner (Self catered)
– Stargazing session and Nocturnal Creatures Hunt

Day 2: Guided Bush Walk & Snare Sweep

Early Morning: Meet at ranger HQ for a briefing
– Patrol begins on foot through high-risk poaching zones
– Participants assist with:
Spotting and removing snares
GPS mapping of snare locations
Learning how rangers track human signs in the bush

Mid Morning: Rest stop with bush snacks and coffee

Afternoon: Free time / Optional activities
– Downtime by the pool/river
– Bush games

Dinner: Bonfire & Braai
– Catered bush dinner
– Share stories with Smores (Toasted marshmallows with biscuit & chocolate)

Day 3: Conservation Activities & Departure

Morning: Activity
– Draw a picture of their experience
– Build a Bee box
– Game Drive

Brunch: Final group reflection on the experience & Certificate ceremony
– Receive your “Wildlife Guardian” Certificate of Impact

Midday: Departure
– Leave not just connected but fulfilled, inspired, and inspired by nature
