Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Night Patrol

Afternoon: Arrive at the designated Game Reserve within Kwa-Zulu Natal
– Welcome pack
– Meet your PAWZ Africa and reserve hosts

Evening: Patrol Deployment
– Walk into the reserve alongside armed rangers
– Track for snares, human activity, and wildlife signs
– Learn bushcraft, tracking, navigation, and night operation protocols

Dinner: Bush Dinner at Overnight Base
– Set up a rustic field camp
– Fireside meal and ranger storytelling

Night: Watch
– Take part in rotating patrols and star-lit surveillance
– Use night vision and thermal scopes (if available)

Day 2: Dawn Patrol & Departure

Early Morning: Morning Sweep
– Check snare lines and track nocturnal movement
– Reflect on the night’s silence, sounds, and meaning

Morning: Return to Main Camp for Breakfast
– Final discussion with rangers on poaching pressures and your impact

Lunch: Departure

Inclusions

1 night ranger patrol with expert team

Based in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, the majority of our work takes place in this region. Our focus as the name suggests is towards Parks and Wildlife Zululand however upon invitation by other organisations and reserves we will assist on projects nationally.
