Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Meet & Greet

Afternoon: Arrive at the designated Game Reserve within Kwa-Zulu Natal
– Welcome drink and settle into your accommodation
– Meet your PAWZ Africa and reserve hosts

Evening: Sunset Game drive with telemetry equipment
– Introduction to the critical role rangers play in tracking
– Learn about monitoring tools: GPS collars, camera traps, spoor tracking, data logs

Dinner: Fireside Dinner
– Enjoy a traditional bush dinner under the stars
– Learn about monitoring technology, tracking, and data-driven reserve management

Day 2: The Monitoring Operation

Early Morning: Meet at ranger HQ for a briefing and gear distribution
– Patrol begins on foot or 4×4 with telemetry gear and guides
– Participants assist with:
Log sightings
Track animal movements
Check camera traps
Record behavior

Mid Morning: Rest stop with bush snacks and coffee

Afternoon: Free Time / Optional Activities
– Relax by the pool
– Enjoy a massage
– Take a short nature walk

Evening: Sunset Game Drive
– Bush drinks at a scenic lookout

Dinner: Celebration Dinner & Certificate Ceremony
– Receive your “Wildlife Guardian” Certificate of Impact
– Closing stories

Day 3: Conservation Activities & Departure

Morning: Choose an activity such as:
– Bush Walk
– Game Drive

Brunch: Final group reflection on the experience

Midday: Departure
